Wow it's weird to be typing 2018... anyway, we have a new theme with some fancy stuff, but some of it is still broken. Also the email field for guests appears again, I'll fix it eventually.
Introducing Battle Suite 4.0 RC2

We now have a working version of an early write-up of Battle Suite 4.0 available for use. This system completely automates tabletop functions, and is very user-friendly.

Embers // Afterlife Fantasy

Welcome to the first day of your new life. Embers is an afterlife fantasy cyberpunk RPG, running since 2006, first under the name War Chain, and then under the name Tamashii no Chikai, originally as a Bleach RP. Some Bleach influence still remains, but it is all presented differently and features new elements. The recent 2016 reboot under the name Embers follows a very similar standard and focus that War Chain and Tamashii no Chikai did, and we hope Embers will grow into its own free of its fandom ties. Here's to 157,000 more posts!

The Soul Seers

Soul seers are the unfortunate stage between an unseeing and a soul fighter. Seers can only see and interact with the dead, and sometimes not even very well, but few can control Force, even their own.


Since the dawn of time, there have been living humans that can see the dead, astrals, valhalir, kashi, kazan, dragons, and seekers alike. Most do not know what they are seeing, and will come up with very simplistic terms for them, but some have a better idea than others, either by listening to them talk to one another, or by one of them telling them the truth.

As soul seers gain the ability to naturally see and hear the dead by having higher than average Force levels, most become a valhalir after death. As how much higher than average their Force may be varies wildly, some see the dead only as very blurry, indistinct visages, while others see them so clearly it is difficult for them to tell who is dead and who is not. How well they can hear them varies based on Force levels, too, and some seers cannot see them at all, but can hear them.

Factions, Groups, and Organisations

There is a small cluster of young soul seers and young soul fighters that have grouped together in Sollebrunn and become friends. Strength in numbers.
It's jokingly called the "I see dead things club."

Relations with Other Races

Soul fighters may become friendly with seers, and so may eidolons, but the rest of the races tend to pretend seers don't exist at all. It varies; some spirit races will purposely find them to tell them what they see, and better prepare them for handling themselves in the case of a seeker attack.

Unseeing usually believe seers to be insane, because they do not see these things that seers talk about, but they are terribly insistent, particularly when young, that they exist.
