Embers // Afterlife Fantasy

Welcome to the first day of your new life. Embers is an afterlife fantasy cyberpunk RPG, running since 2006, first under the name War Chain, and then under the name Tamashii no Chikai, originally as a Bleach RP. Some Bleach influence still remains, but it is all presented differently and features new elements. The recent 2016 reboot under the name Embers follows a very similar standard and focus that War Chain and Tamashii no Chikai did, and we hope Embers will grow into its own free of its fandom ties. Here's to 157,000 more posts!
Mature themes, half the board is gay. Not recommended for bigots or individuals under 16 years of age. You must be 18 or older to gain access to the mature boards.

There are many different dimensions, and each dimension works a little differently than the others. Depending on what character type(s) you decide to play, you'll be present in at least one of the below to some extent.

The afterlife, Asgard is where the souls of the deceased are either reborn, or are sent. Asgard is separated into several different nations, a few of which are now monarchies, and the instability of Asgard's government systems has led to a very large gap between social castes. Unlike the dimension where living humans exist, Asgard is very high-tech, but its social issues run deep.

The world of the living humans, named after the Goddess of Life, Iuna is another name for earth, and the only name for earth used by those that are deceased. Iuna is much like modern humans would remember, and the game is currently set in 2016, in the fictional city of Sollebrunn, Manitoba, Canada.

A world of sand and endless night, Sheol is often considered the equivalent to the human concept of hell, but in actuality, hell and Sheol are not the same thing. Sheol is where the seekers typically make their home. Some call it the world of screams, as Sheol is certainly not very welcoming whatsoever. To anyone or anything. In recent years, it has gained something of a leadership, to some extent.

A part of Asgard, Valhalla is a spherical barrier that holds terraformed land and water. It is home to Valkyrie and the valhalir, and is in fact what the valhalir are named after. As they are very separate from Asgard, Valhalla does not tend to have the same problems that Asgard does, and many in Valhalla forget that Asgard even exists. Asgard never forgets Valhalla, though, as it is the only object in the sky at night, and acts as something of a moon.
