Wow it's weird to be typing 2018... anyway, we have a new theme with some fancy stuff, but some of it is still broken. Also the email field for guests appears again, I'll fix it eventually.
Introducing Battle Suite 4.0 RC2
October 24, 2017
We now have a working version of an early write-up of Battle Suite 4.0 available for use. This system completely automates tabletop functions, and is very user-friendly.

Embers // Afterlife Fantasy

Welcome to the first day of your new life. Embers is an afterlife fantasy cyberpunk RPG, running since 2006, first under the name War Chain, and then under the name Tamashii no Chikai, originally as a Bleach RP. Some Bleach influence still remains, but it is all presented differently and features new elements. The recent 2016 reboot under the name Embers follows a very similar standard and focus that War Chain and Tamashii no Chikai did, and we hope Embers will grow into its own free of its fandom ties. Here's to 157,000 more posts!
Mature themes, half the board is gay. Not recommended for bigots or individuals under 16 years of age. You must be 18 or older to gain access to the mature boards.

The Kashi

Magic Use★★★☆☆
DistinctionsAnimal-like features
When souls of animals die, they usually just wander around until they are eventually found by a kashi and sent to Asgard. Some animal souls, however, are very intelligent, and pop out more human-like, if not entirely. These are the kashi, the guides and guards of animal souls.

Animal spirits have always been in existence, predating even human souls, as humans have not always existed. Similarly, kashi have always existed, albeit the world's concept of "intelligent" was not always humans, and kashi did not always have human appearances.

Truth be told, the kashi are the first functioning valhalir in the universe, existing to guide deceased animals to Asgard, and back, regulating the flow of souls from one dimension to another. Seekers did not exist at this time, as animals were not, and rarely are even now, capable of emotion strong enough to trigger devolving into a seeker, and there were never any things the animal souls wanted to deal with before being able to move on, thereby kashi existed only as guides.

Now, the kashi often fight alongside valhalir with Valkyrie, in order to keep the seeker population under control and save what astrals they can from them.

Age and Development

Kashi do not seem to physically age much, if at all. They are born, however, and develop from childhood as many humans do. Most kashi are born with animal-like features, such as dog ears and tails, but almost any mammal's ears and tail have been found on them. When they age and grow into their powers, they learn to shift fluidly between their animal form and their human one, but many prefer to stay in what is termed "half-shift," whereby they still retain their ears and tail, as it is more familiar to them.

Factions, Groups, and Organisations

Kashi have noble lines of their own, and while some have been integrated into Valhalla's nobility, many haven't. The kashi also have a tribal chief of their own, but as many kashi are Valkyries, their chief works with Valkyrie's commander a lot. The kashi tribes are considered the most valuable ally Valkyrie have.

Powers and Abilities

All kashi have some semblance of ability to manipulate Force. Most kashi also have potential to manifest a daemon. Kashi can also fluidly shift between an animal form and a human one, or somewhere in-between, at will.

Relations with Other Races

Few do not at least sort of get along with kashi, as they're usually rather good hearted, though newly dead seem to often have troubles wrapping their heads around them.
