Mature Content Tweak
January 11, 2018
Mature content now depends entirely on the birth date listed in your profile. It will automatically decide if you're above 18 and start displaying mature threads to you. These are highlighted yellow, so you can still avoid them if you'd rather.
New Year, New Theme!
January 5, 2018
Wow it's weird to be typing 2018... anyway, we have a new theme with some fancy stuff, but some of it is still broken. Also the email field for guests appears again, I'll fix it eventually.
Introducing Battle Suite 4.0 RC2
October 24, 2017
We now have a working version of an early write-up of Battle Suite 4.0 available for use. This system completely automates tabletop functions, and is very user-friendly.

Embers // Afterlife Fantasy

Welcome to the first day of your new life. Embers is an afterlife fantasy cyberpunk RPG, running since 2006, first under the name War Chain, and then under the name Tamashii no Chikai, originally as a Bleach RP. Some Bleach influence still remains, but it is all presented differently and features new elements. The recent 2016 reboot under the name Embers follows a very similar standard and focus that War Chain and Tamashii no Chikai did, and we hope Embers will grow into its own free of its fandom ties. Here's to 157,000 more posts!
Mature themes, half the board is gay. Not recommended for bigots or individuals under 16 years of age. You must be 18 or older to gain access to the mature boards.

Joining Guide

Joining Embers is relatively straight-forward. We'll go over the steps on this page.

The first step is to register an OOC account. It is not required, but it is very preferred that you do so. Once you've got that done and have logged in, find the characters icon at the top of the site, to the left side. It should look like this:

From there, click Create/Link, enter a character name (full name, First Last format, unless their name is entirely East Asian, then it should be Last First order), a password (twice, it can be anything, nobody can log into a subaccount but the parent via the switch account dropdown), and then click Create/Link again.

SMF does not require the character accounts that will become subs to be registered already, it will create them if they don't exist. If they do, make sure the password is the same one you registered the account with.

Battle Suite

After registering your character's account, before you submit the application for review, you'll need to do their skills. In order to do that, click the Battle Suite link on the navigation bar. From there, click Skill Manager, and add and manage skills as needed. Be sure to visit either the main Battle Suite page, or the user settings page and save, after your skills are done, to be sure your HP is calculated correctly.

For more information on how to do this, see The Battle Suite 4.0 Guide.

Once you've finished setting up your skills in the Battle Suite, visit the Applicant Room board, and locate the form and guide. The thread itself will give you a run-down of what to do, but, simply copy the code, start a new topic, subject Lastname, Firstname, for indexing reasons, description can be anything you like, paste the code into the message body, and fill it out.

There is a class name called "Groupname" that should be your character's usergroup, this is at the top of the code. They are separated by race/character type. If your character fits more than one, the one you use in their application shipper will be the one we sort them as.

When you're done, you may @ a staff member (either Pham Thanh or dragonborn), but it's recommended to post a link to the topic in the tag people box (right side, bottom index). Be patient. It may take some time to get around to it.

When editing your character's forum profile (click the ID card looking icon on the top bar, then find Modify Profile => Forum Profile), you'll note there are headers and boxes. Label the headers anything you like, and then fill in the boxes with anything you like. These are free-form, you can set up a profile/character sheet that has anything you want on it, but they aren't required to be filled in.
