Wow it's weird to be typing 2018... anyway, we have a new theme with some fancy stuff, but some of it is still broken. Also the email field for guests appears again, I'll fix it eventually.

Embers // Afterlife Fantasy

Welcome to the first day of your new life. Embers is an afterlife fantasy cyberpunk RPG, running since 2006, first under the name War Chain, and then under the name Tamashii no Chikai, originally as a Bleach RP. Some Bleach influence still remains, but it is all presented differently and features new elements. The recent 2016 reboot under the name Embers follows a very similar standard and focus that War Chain and Tamashii no Chikai did, and we hope Embers will grow into its own free of its fandom ties. Here's to 157,000 more posts!
Mature themes, half the board is gay. Not recommended for bigots or individuals under 16 years of age. You must be 18 or older to gain access to the mature boards.

The Astrals

Magic Use★★☆☆☆
Astrals are formerly living humans that have deceased, or souls that were born in Asgard; either origination is possible. Astrals can be found either in the living world of Iuna, or in Asgard.

It is unknown when exactly the first human soul came to exist, or when they started being called astrals. None now live that remember such minute details. The astrals eventually began building societies and civilisations modelled after the ones in the living world, usually from their memories of being alive, if they had any. For a handful, these were just from the stories they remembered being told by those that were at one time alive.

Asgard evolved and changed based on their concepts of what it should be like, as well as their strange whimsical fantasies of what it should be like. When the astrals discovered how easily manipulated Force really was, they began to use it to power their technology, and advanced extremely fast.

Despite this quick advancement, the astrals still have many social and civil rights issues, and a tendency toward inane segregation. Their technology may be far beyond the living world, but in many ways, their society's way, way behind them, and in certain areas, their culture is, too.

Age and Development

Astrals and their ageing and development vary wildly. It mostly depends upon the astral themselves, and how they'd prefer to age. For a small handful, they gain power too quickly to control their ageing and will do so very rapidly for a while.

Factions, Groups, and Organisations

Astrals head the Asgardian Powers. Similarly, Valkyrie is comprised entirely of astrals, just astrals that have higher than average Force. Astrals that have more Force than normal will feel hunger and need to eat; those that have lower Force only need to stay hydrated.

Powers and Abilities

Most astrals can control their own Force to some extent, mostly preventing it from leaking. Some can conjure simplistic Force blasts, similar to a seeker's blasts. Once one reaches the point they can run faster, and become harder to injure, they're technically more of a valhalir than an astral.

Relations with Other Races

Generally speaking, astrals get along fine with dae, and usually also are on decent terms with the kashi. Kazan have mixed feelings about them, and dragons usually like them well enough.
